Udawalawe
Udawalawe National Park is located approximately 200 km south-east of Colombo city and is a major eco-tourism destination in Sri Lanka. The 30,821 hectares’ dry zone game park has an annual rainfall of 1524 mm and an average temperature of 29.4°C. The park is one of the major Sri Lankan national parks, covering an area of 300 Km2 in Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces .It is most famous for the many elephants that live there . During a visit, it is not unusual to see whole herds of adults and young elephants– feeding or bathing and playing in the water!
Galle
The Galle fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. The most enjoyable way to experience the Galle Fort is by walking. A leisurely walk leads past the old Dutch Church, the Governor’s house, the spice warehouses, Court Square, the Kacheri (town hall), the lighthouse and on to the sea wall and ramparts.
Mirissa
Sourrunded by beatuiful wildlife and beaches, Mirissa is a small town located in the Matara District of Southern Province. The water is clear and excellent for snorkeling. Mirissa beach is home to many seafood restaurants, and is best known for surfing and seasonal Whale wathcing.
During visits to temples and religious sites Dress code while at temples: suitable apparel is required. Temples are places of worship, therefore caps, shorts below knee level or open t-shirts/shirts/blouses are not allowed. Besides, posing for pictures with sacred statues is considered a rude gesture and a penal offense punishable by law.
